Budblossom
“My name is Budblossy” – she promises. Her downcast eyes – a strange amalgam of fire and water.
“Budblossom then,” – I repeat. A sleepy kitchen fairy. “Beware of intruders, coming from the outer space” –
I would suddenly warn her – true, a bit unwarranted, as if out of the blue.
Sure, she is surprised; she looks about, full of suspicion. Whence
My sudden ambition to let her know the secret.
“They infuse your body with germs, alien bodies, moving cells,
Destroy your beauty, distorting your limbs, working havoc,
Irrevocably changing your looks, your face”.
“Who?” she asks. This strange world.
“Take care! ‘It is an accident’,
they maintain, while taking hold of you.
“They are in search of the treasure”.
“What treasure? What is all this about?” (Maybe she
suspects me of having come from some faraway geoid? Nebula?)
“The well known Treasure, watched over
by the Serpents, in the midst of a forest, at the entrance of the cave,
Where at the spring
Seven Ladies dance on the shore of the lake,
Slowly, in rhythmic steps, as if in a dream,
Their white shrouds on their shoulders float and dance with them in the easy wind.
Those ladies, they are the spring and the spring is their scent.
Theirs are the treasures hidden in the furthest recesses of the earth,
They are the sought-for object.
To them are the seven outlaws drawn, before them they also draw their shining weapons from under their garments
And grab the treasure: Aliens, -“
So like a secret password I transmit the secret.
She looks at me. Cuckoo. How else may she solve the riddle.

A Note: It is the Spring!!! (La Primavera)!!!:
Summer is coming in, loudly sings the cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo….
The seed grows; the meadow blossoms, and the woods alivens anew.
The ewe bleats after the lamb; the cow lows after the calf;
The bull leaps; the goat capers*; merrily sing cuckoo!
Well sing you, cuckoo–don"t ever stop now.
Sing cuckoo, now
