I think i could turn and live with animals , <\/font><\/strong><\/p>\n

they are so placid and self-contained<\/font><\/strong><\/p>\n

I stand and look at them long and long .<\/font><\/strong><\/p>\n

They do not sweat and whine about their condition , <\/font><\/strong><\/p>\n

They do not lie awake in the dark and weep for their sins , <\/font><\/strong><\/p>\n

They do not make me sick discussing their duty to God , <\/font><\/strong><\/p>\n

Not one is dissatisfied , <\/font><\/strong><\/p>\n

not one is demented with the mania of owning things , <\/font><\/strong><\/p>\n

Not one kneels to another , <\/font><\/strong><\/p>\n

nor to his kind that lived thousands of years ago , <\/font><\/strong><\/p>\n

Not one is respectable or industrious over the whole earth . <\/font><\/strong><\/p>\n
