Dears:

I hope you all landed safely, and I hope you all are doing well,

Vacation from war and our way back:

It wasn’t an intentional incident neither it was a twist of fate; it was a reality we’re living.

Our intention was to get the last raw of seats in the bus, and yes that’s what we got after two hours of waiting at the Jordanian borders.

It’s merely a small number of meters separating us from getting to the Israeli gateway, and here we go, the pleasurable and delightful voyage just started!

It was me, Hadil, Suhier, Zeina and Ginnen, the five queens of tranquility, each one of us got her own leathery-extra hot-browny-30cm-bon voyage seat!

Our bus kept its 80s fashion on, lucky us we enjoyed the home "bus" made sauna, we enjoyed it till the melting peak point, the sun managed its way and burst through the petite holes between the small curtains next to Suheir"s drowsy tiny head.

We got the opportunity to expend our stay in the sauna for one extra hour, it was a good deal: spend four hours and get "one" for free = five hilarious hours of melting, sweating, and disliking your damen self.

It was the accurate time to ask:  comment ca va ladies?

Oh what a ridiculous question! How can we be any better, we just came back from our retreat: from our vacation from war!

We should be relaxed, chilly, freshy, and cool!
Oh cammon, what absurdities and contradictions are you talking about? We are very open minded, and flexible to any unpredictable situations!

Was it unpredictable? Was it not?

Who cares, we just wanna go "home" after two days of traveling.

Oh please stop don"t you even dare and ask me… what "home"?

BUT as far as I know a "home" is a place were you feel safe and find you"re loved ones….and….. and!!

At this point I gave an affirmative order to my brain to shut up!

I took a look around, the bus didn’t move yet we"re still
waiting for the magical Israeli gate to open!

Ok let’s try this, dear beloved gate my lovely sweetheart: Open, please open! Open! Open sesame! Open humus! Open Falafel! Open! Open you mother fucker open! Na it was a stupid idea!

Ok then let"s try this: Time to play!

Suheir was on my left and Hadil was on my right, and I asked both:

do you see the reflection of the sun on your seats? Since their answer was yes, our game started!

Close your eyes, now you"re laying down on the beach, you can feel the sun blazing your bodies, "A good time for tanning",

and at this moment all what you call for is a cold and icy drink!

Here he comes, a hot-topless "shobak arb3a" life guard with a glass of apple martini just for you!

It"s too cold that you can observe the water drops falling down from your glass, tenderly he bends down and offers you the drink! This is exactly what your dry throat was screaming for!

Let"s swim?
Yes! And why not, you’ve been there since 4 hours burning under the sun"s high temperature!

He captures your hand, and you"re walking towards the sea,

you"re bare feet are delighted from the hot sand, but still longing to that thrilling feeling, when the sea covers them softly and smoothly with its glossy stream.

You"re getting closer to the sea; the calm wave launches forward finding its path all the way through your beautiful toes!
A great sensation, all what you need is to jump in to the cold water and cool off your body from the burning sun! Here comes the moment….BUT!

It was game over time: Hadil, Susu!!! Wake up! We don"t even have a sea to go to! You"re still in the bus waiting for the gate to open!!

Yes, I was able to sense and feel the sparkling tears in Hadil"s eyes, and yes I realize that our vacation from war was impermanent!

And the question was: can we make it permanent? Can you? Shall we?

Finally, the gate was opened, and it was that damen magical button and the funny thing, all what that magical button needed is a finger tap from a human being wearing "the occupier uniform"!

So mathematically it goes like this:  40 ppl x 5 hrs = 1 finger!

I learned in business school, what matters is quality and not quantity, unfortunately in our quack-quack wonder land, your quality is measured by how much occupier you are!

And your value decreases by how much occupied you are. And for clarification it"s not a matter of choice or acceptance!

And that’s why I hate math so much and I got "F" four times, the fourth was "F A" which means "Fail of Absence" I was absent. Because I was in a vacation, in a vacation from war, a vacation from the reality!

And the question pops up again: can we make it "the vacation" permanent? Can you? Shall we?
